La Piola combines years of experience, hospitality and love for the Italian wine tradition. Inspired by its name, which in Piedmontese means "osteria", the wine shop offers a wide selection of fine wines from all Italian regions. An ideal place to taste, get to know or rediscover Italian wines.
If these pots and pans could talk, they would tell you about the thousands and one recipes they have hosted, they would tell you about the great fish that, in honour of Captain Ahab, they tamed; about the unexpected "Babette's lunch" delicacies that they blanched, marinated and made dance on the flames; but since pots and pans can sing but can’t talk, you will have to come and taste for yourself. Monday through Saturday from 12pm to 3pm.
Ours is not a menu, it's a journey that’s different every day, a stroll through the regionality and flavors of Italy. We choose only quality ingredients, for simple and genuine dishes.
Our selection has about one hundred labels, small and medium producers, wineries chosen for their way of working, respect for the land and community as well as for the quality of the grapes. We have wines for every region and every season, we have discovered, tasted and loved them, so you can always count on our advice when choosing. The wine list by the glass changes monthly: whites, reds, a rosé for the undecided and our prosecco for those who crave bubbles.
Apéro
The aperitif, here, is an inalienable right; our constitution states that from 6 p.m. onwards, from Monday to Saturday, we sit down in front of a good glass to chat and nibble on some mini delicacies.
The Spritz is a Piolalibri trademark for over a decade, but it’s not the only cocktail in the Italian tradition. Ask our expert bartenders to mix you one of the great beauties Negroni, Americano or Sbagliato.
Private events
If you know us even just a bit, you know how important it is for us to drink and eat well, surrounded by books to read, clinking glasses, and laughing (sometimes crying) with our friends around the table.
It is in this spirit of conviviality that we offer our rooms and our experience to organize your private drinks.
